Lutton Files on Gentle Discipline
Grace Based Dicipline in action
quote::
"Every action has a motivation--and without motivation there is no action. Someone who feels good about themselves and about life isn't going to go around whacking people upside the head, calling names, or threatening people on the street. Someone who is doing those things doesn't feel good inside. Bullies are some of the most miserable people. " Crystal Lutton

that makes the verse "love one another as you love yourself " so much more meaningful
i was always confused at what if you hated yourself or were suicidal, were into harming yourself, or had bad self value and self esteem than how do you treat others???

new sites i just found "
parenting in Jesus' footsteps"
By examining the teachings of Jesus Christ, we can apply them to the parent/child relationship. What do the Golden Rule, the Beatitudes, the Prodigal Son story and other teachings tell us about how to treat children?

Christian families on the edge: Authoritarianism And isolationism among us

quotes i like

"What is done to children, they will do to society." - Dr. Karl Menninger

"People are not for hitting, and children are people too." - Dr. John Valusek
yep exploring the smacking issue again!!

Matthew 25;40"The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' -question how does this apply to the way i interact with Lucy or does it only applie for adult interactions???

isn't Lucy a brother/sister under the covernant, so doesn't the way we are told to relate to brother and sisters in christ also apply to her???

"Isaiah 66:13As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted "

-my favorite verse at the moment, i like to think of God as being there for me always, seeing me when i have a need and call out to him, being gracious, mercyful, patient, understanding etc. I stuggle to be this sort of comfort for Lucy sometimes (specially since there seems to be alot of opposition towards this kind of responsive parenting,) (and my own selfishness gets in the way)
But i know that it's the best way to reflect Gods grace to Lucy (actions speak louder than words).

"While preachers preach of evil fates
Teachers teach that knowledge waits
Can lead to hundred-dollar plates
Goodness hides behind its gates
But even the president of the United States
Sometimes must have
To stand naked." Bob Dylan,
