"an artist has got to be careful never really to arrive in a place where he thinks he's at some where.... you always have to relise that your constantly in a state of becoming. As long as you stay in that realm you'll sort of be alright."

for some reason i'm once again exploring the vast musical world of rightous babe records and found
Andrew Bird ...
is a previously unimaginable combination of songwriter, violinist, guitarist, vocalist and professional whistler.

i like it and you can listen to the whole albumn here
America
Allen Ginsberg
Jackie Montana's annotated "America"

America I've given you all and now I'm nothing.
America two dollars and twenty-seven cents January 17, 1956.
I can't stand my own mind.
America when will we end the human war?
Go fuck yourself with your atom bomb
I don't feel good don't bother me.
I won't write my poem till I'm in my right mind.
America when will you be angelic?
When will you take off your clothes?
When will you look at yourself through the grave?
When will you be worthy of your million Trotskyites?
America why are your libraries full of tears?
America when will you send your eggs to India?
I'm sick of your insane demands.
When can I go into the supermarket and buy what I need with my good looks?

ode to Mapua
this is were i spent my time as a teenager, bare feet, swimming at sunset, old man pants, old minolta camera,
yay funny seeing photos on the internet this was off a buy nz made site

Also found this on this blog

"Mapua is a lovely-enough place, but unfortunately it's somewhat overrun by hippies, Germans, patchouli oil, and abominable art. Actually, there's nothing much to distinguish it from the rest of the Greater Nelson and Tasman region, aside possibly from the 30-year legacy of the chemical-dump and it's associated health hazards. There's also a proper "naturalist" colony somewhere about."

"all, presumably, caught right there in the estuary, and all, presumably, [sarcasm] relatively-free of the Aldrin, Lindane, Dieldrin, DDT, and other highly toxic dioxin pesticides which have been leaching into the water for at least the last 30 years. [/sarcasm]"

heres where i swam almost every day in summer, while hanging out in Colin McCohans
old home with my friend Mike Perry (seemingly famous Nz ceramic artist)and classic scooter enthusiast (i know more than one)
and who built a circular mud lounge, yes i think he is a genius in his own right. Theres something in that Mapua air that ooozes creativity.

heres a splurb from my old doctor...

In a 2001 letter to the Tasman District Council, Ewer said he had provided the select committee with possible evidence of local health-related problems, "including the unusual preponderance of cancer-related deaths".

Ewer said last week that his concerns had not been proved by an epidemiogical study. "But the numbers seemed high at the time, and it worried me."

Ewer said the health issues, such as liver disease, seemed to be occurring among the community that lived close to the Tahi Street site.
